On 29 October 2025 the implementation of automatic recognition among Baltic and Benelux countries was presented and discussed with participants of ASEM Expert Group on Recognition and Balanced Mobility. It was 9th Meeting of Asia-Europe Education group, this time taking place online.
Aurelija Valeikienė, Deputy Director of SKVC talked about the Multilateral treaty concluded between Baltic states and Benelux countries, focusing on importance of Bologna Process tools, supporting implementation of the treaty and providing basis for trust among the parties. The AR-GO tool was presented in detail, underlining its function as transparency tool for mobile learners and workers within these two regions. In the discussion part, importance of national qualification frameworks was underlined. In addition, special attention was devoted to authenticity of credentials as a preceding step before the automatic recognition can be applied and to the difference between the level automatic recognition of credentials and admission within higher education institutions. The latter two aspects often are found as opaque and confusing in the whole discussion on implementation of automatic recognition.
